Cogswell's Grant: Barn Interior

$300.00

One of the best things about Massachusetts's North Shore is how intentional the entire region is about preserving its history. Numerous commissions maintain and protect buildings and locations significant to ties to the area's history, and keep them open to the public for free. Cogswell's Grant is an old farm in the town of Essex, MA. It now functions as a museum which, while it's been closed for the pandemic, the land is still open and that includes its barn which is still functional. And it probably looks almost identical to how it did 100-200 years ago.

I love the smell of the old wood and hay in a New England barn, it is intensely distinct and nostalgic for me, and reminds me of the farm house I grew up on, and the air was thick with that scent here.
